Two teens injured and one killed in I-94 rollover accident

A teenager from Plymouth, Minnesota lost his life and two of his friends were injured in a single-vehicular rollover accident that took place near Eau Claire on July 3, according to CBS Minnesota.

The accident took place in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 94 at around 7:20 p.m., the Wisconsin Department of Transportation reported. The 16-year-old driver of the 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt, identified as Robbinsdale resident Hanna Sedqi, veered onto the shoulder and over-corrected, causing the vehicle to roll over. The car came to rest on the interstate’s median.

Both Sedqi and another occupant, 15-year-old Leo Schreiner from Plymouth, were both injured and taken to the Sacred Heart Hospital and the Mayo Clinic respectively. The other occupant, 16-year-old Kevin Messer, was killed in the rollover crash.

According to police reports, all three of the teenagers were wearing seatbelts. Although the Wisconsin State Patrol is still investigating the accident, it is believed that alcohol was not involved.
