Bike safety measures encouraged by Kenosha local government

Wisconsin celebrated its annual Bike to Work Week in the second week of June, and the Kenosha County government took this opportunity to encourage bicycle safety, according to the Kenosha News.

County Executive Jim Kreuser reminded residents that they should take heed to practice bike safety, especially in light of a fatal bicycle accident that happened earlier in the month.

Bicyclists are encouraged not to weave in between lanes and cars; if they travel straight and remain as far to the right as possible, they are more visible and therefore more safe. When bicyclists and pedestrians must share a sidewalk, bicyclists should call out their presence to the people walking in order to give them warning.

The attorneys at Habush Habush & Rottier S.C. know all too well how devastating a bicycle accident can be for those involved.
