76-year-old Peshtigo woman loses life in car accident

A 76-year-old woman from Peshtigo, Wisconsin lost her life after her car was struck by a Delta County ambulance late on February 10, ABC 10 News reported.

According to preliminary investigations, the woman was coming onto U.S. Route 41 from Access Road 3 when her vehicle was struck broadside by the ambulance. Both she and her dog perished in the collision.

The traffic along the northbound lanes of the highway was diverted onto Flame Road to Old Peshtigo Road while southbound traffic was detoured onto Country Meadows Road.

The sheriff’s department and the Wisconsin State Patrol are currently conducting an investigation into the incident to find out pertinent details surrounding the case.

Assisting the investigation were agencies such as the Peshtigo Fire Department, Peshtigo and Marinette Police Departments, Marinette Rescue Squad, Bay Area Medical Center paramedics, Marinette County Highway Commission, and the Marinette County Coroner’s Office.
