Woman dies in Bristol three-vehicle accident; 81-year-old man cited

Officials from the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office in Wisconsin reported that a 23-year-old Trevor, Wisconsin woman, who they identified as Kathryn Kowalcyzk, died, while another person, 44-year-old Dodge Center, Minnesota resident Steven Foote, was injured after a three-vehicle accident on U.S. Route 45 at around 11 a.m. on Friday, August 8.

According to preliminary investigations, 81-year-old Zion, Illinois resident Sandor Katona was traveling west at the intersection of U.S. 45 and County Highway WG (State Line Road) in Bristol, when he ran a red light and hit Foote’s northbound semi-tractor flatbed, which then hit Kowalcyzk’s southbound truck with horse trailer.

Kowalcyzk was instantly killed while Foote was airlifted via Flight for Life and was taken to the Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee.

Katona was cited for violation of a traffic control signal.
