Authorities identify victims of Mount Vernon crash

The Linn County Sheriff’s Office in eastern Iowa has identified the Martelle residents who were killed in a Mount Vernon four-vehicle car accident on June 16 as 33-year-old David Hultquist and his 23-year-old passenger Skyler Darrow, the StarTribune reported on June 19.

According to preliminary investigations by police deputies, the two victims were inside a stopped car in a construction zone on Iowa Highway 1 when they were rear-ended by a sport utility vehicle driven by 44-year-old Platteville, Wisconsin resident Kimberly Sargent. Sargent and her two children were all hospitalized after the incident.

The victims’ vehicle was pushed into the car ahead of it, which in turn ran into the vehicle preceding it. The people in the last two vehicles did not sustain any physical injuries, police investigators reported.

The attorneys at Habush Habush & Rottier S.C. send their sincere condolences to the friends and family suffering from this tragic loss.
