Dover accident injures local authority

A sergeant from the Racine County Sheriff’s Office was injured in a two-vehicle collision on Tuesday, January 28. The accident took place at the intersection of Highway 20 and Highway 75 in Dover.

The injured officer was transported to the Wheaton Franciscan-All Saints Hospital where he was treated for non life-threatening wounds. Reports indicate that the officer was wearing his seat belt at the time of the accident.

According to the initial police investigation, a 22-year-old Kansasville man failed to yield the right of way, causing the accident. Police have not yet determined if drugs or alcohol were present in the driver’s system at the time of the accident.
