Child dies after Green County alcohol-related accident

Twenty-one-year-old Monroe resident Trevor McGuire was driving a pickup truck westbound, allegedly while intoxicated, on State Highway 59 on Monday, October 7 when he drove over the median and struck a mini-van.

The minivan was driven by 35-year-old Matthew Iverson, who was with his three children, one of whom perished.

Iverson was transported to the UW Hospital for serious injuries. His 10-year-old child was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

There was no available data for the conditions of his two other children, ages 13 and 7.

McGuire was taken to the hospital after the crash for treatment of his non-life-threatening injuries.

McGuire will be charged with reckless driving and homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle.
