Older man in critical condition after being hit by car in Kenosha

Fifty-year-old Jay Rasmussen, Jr. of Kenosha was crossing Washington Road in the 900 block around 6:20 p.m. on Sunday, July 28 to help a woman who had fallen when he was hit by a car, Kenosha police reports stated.

Witness Milo Mika, who was in an eastbound vehicle on Washington, said the driver of the vehicle that struck Rasmussen “didn’t hit his brakes or anything.” Blaine Borden, Mika’s passenger, said Rasmussen flew up over the car when it hit him.

Rasmussen was unconscious when paramedics arrived at the scene of the accident, according to Borden and Mika. They took him to Froedtert. According to Froedtert personnel, Rasmussen’s condition became critical on Monday, July 29.

The Kenosha Police Department is investigating the incident.
