Two women injured in Mount Pleasant car accident

Two women were hospitalized after their cars crashed into each other on Tuesday afternoon, June 25, near the intersection of Highway 20 and Highway V in Mount Pleasant.

Battalion Chief Jon Keiser said the South Shore Fire Department responded shortly after noon to the crash and had eastbound traffic on Highway 20 transferred to Interstate 94 in the afternoon, as the road was temporarily closed to allow for cleanup of the accident by emergency responders.

Keiser said both females sustained non-life-threatening injuries, although one had to be taken out of her vehicle through emergency extrication, resulting in her vehicle’s door being removed.
