Bean truck topples over on Wisconsin 42

A truck carrying a full load of beans rolled over last week while departing from the field where it was filled with its cargo.

The truck, driven by 68-year-old Gordon A. Berto, blocked the highway until it could be cleared up. Its rear tire on the right side dropped as the driver was turning onto the road, causing the rollover. The beans poured from their hold, blanketing the street.

The truck’s driver suffered minor injuries and was not taken to a medical facility.

Trucking companies have a responsibility to ensure that their vehicles are fully operational to protect their employees as well as other drivers.
