Wrong-way driver causes crash on I-94

A 27 year-old driver going the wrong way on Interstate 94 caused an accident in Hammond, injuring one person.

Just after 2 am Saturday morning, the St. Croix County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a car heading eastbound in westbound I-94 lanes. Officers had to resort to tire deflation devices in order to stop the driver.

The driver was only put to a stop after he crashed into another vehicle, injuring a 41 year-old Bloomington, Minnesota man. According to the Wisconsin State Patrol, he did not suffer life-threatening injuries. Authorities have charged the wrong-way driver with reckless driving, fleeing from police, eluding causing bodily harm, endangering safety, driving the wrong way, and driving without a valid license.
