Sheboygan man killed in pedestrian crash

An 18 year-old man from Sheboygan was killed early this morning near downtown in a pedestrian accident.

He was struck by a leaf collection truck just before 9:00 while crossing North Sixth Street near New York Avenue. According to the Sheboygan Police Department, the young man died of head and internal injuries. The teenager was unresponsive and unconscious when emergency responders arrived.

The accident will be under investigation. Police say there were no other cars on the road or anything else that could have obstructed the pedestrian or the truck driver’s view. The Wisconsin State Police will be aiding in the investigation.

Our deepest sympathies are with the family and friends of the young victim.
