Wisconsin truck driver involved in fatal wreck

A 24 year-old truck driver who works for the Wisconsin company Roehl Transport was involved in a fatal crash late last week in Indiana. The semi-trailer he was driving read-ended a minivan with ten people inside after their vehicle hit a deer on the Indiana Toll Road in Bristol.

Seven people inside the van were killed, ranging in age from six weeks to 52 years-old. All people on board were extended family on their way to a funeral in New Jersey. No one was wearing a seatbelt and the baby’s car seat was not fastened. The 30 year-old man driving the van is said to be in critical condition. The only other survivors are a 36 year-old woman and a 28 year-old man.

Currently no charges have been brought against the truck driver.

Our deepest sympathies are with the family and friends of the victims.
