Driver arrested in fatal motorcycle accident

A 60 year-old man driving a concrete truck that struck a motorcycle, killing the driver, has been arrested. The accident occurred late last week just south of Houston, Texas.

The driver of the motorcycle, a 53 year-old father of eight, was riding down Interstate 45 when the accident occurred. Officers believe the truck driver stopped after hitting the motorcyclist to move the motorcycle out of the road, and then kept driving. Law enforcement had no leads until they discovered a hotel’s security camera got everything on tape.

The truck driver has since been fired from his job and, if convicted of causing an accident resulting in injury or death, could face two to ten years behind bars and a $10,000 fine.

Our deepest sympathies are with the family and friends of the victim who died in this tragic accident.
