Honda and Subaru recall thousands of vehicles

Honda Motor Company has issued a recall of approximately 311,000 SUVs and Subaru is recalling nearly 500,000 vehicles, according to a report by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Honda Pilots made between 2009-2011 are being recalled for a possible seatbelt malfunction. The car manufacturer says that the stitching on the seatbelt may be missing or incomplete, which can cause it to disconnect from the anchor webbing. No injuries have been reported, but there have been at least two cases of the seatbelts becoming separated.

Surbaru models affected by the recall are 2010 and 2011 Legacies, 2002-2007 Imprezas, 2003-2008 Foresters, and 2005-2006 Saab 9-2z models. The Legacies may have defective wiper motors which, in the worst case scenario, can cause a fire. The other models are believed to have a possible danger of the front control arm corroding and breaking. If the front control arms break, it can cause the vehicle to lose control. Two cases have been reported, but no injuries or crashes occurred.
