Wisconsin man arrested for 6th DUI

A man from Sun Prairie was arrested over the weekend for drunk driving, making it his sixth charge. The 40 year-old man had a blood alcohol level almost ten times over the legal limit for someone with five previous DUI convictions. He was tested with a .199 blood alcohol content (more than twice the limit for legal intoxication); the legal limit for fifth-time offenders is 0.02.

Officers say red flags came up with he stopped at a “Stop Ahead” sign instead of the actual stop sign. Further down the road, the man attempted to turn right when the street was a one-way going in the other direction. He could face up to six years in jail for his sixth conviction. The man had previously served a 12 month sentence, paid $2,950 in fines, had his license revoked for three years, and did 900 hours of community service.
