Jeep Grand Cherokee called most dangerous automobile in the world

The Jeep Grand Cherokee was recently called the most dangerous vehicle in the world by the Center for Auto Safety, and, now, the center is demanding a recall of the vehicle.

The Center for Auto Safety has specifically asked the government to recall the 2.2 million Jeeps that have been sold to drivers from 1993 through 2004. Their reason for calling the Jeep Grand Cherokee a dangerous vehicle is because its fuel tank is located under the back bumper’s rear axle, which allows for rear-end accidents to puncture the fuel tank and cause fires. There have been at least 55 people who have died in the past eleven years because of this design defect.

Chrysler, the manufacturers of the Jeep Grand Cherokee, has refused to issue a recall of the vehicle because it has exceeded federal standards for vehicle safety.
