State trooper killed in drunk driving crash

A 29-year-old Wisconsin State Trooper was killed last Sunday in a two-vehicle drunk driving accident, according to police.

The officer was responding to another officer’s request for help when he struck a pickup truck around 8:38 p.m. in the westbound lane of Highway 47.

A witness to the accident said that the pickup truck driver did not have his lights turned on and pulled directly in front of the officer from a side road, making the accident unavoidable.

When officers arrived on the scene, a breathalyzer test revealed the 49-year-old truck driver’s blood alcohol level to be more than double the legal limit.

The Kenosha drunk driving accident shocked officials and locals. The young officer leaves behind his wife of two years, his parents, and his sister.
