While many individuals believe that rollover accidents can only occur in SUVs, they can occur in almost any type of vehicle. Although SUVs are prone to rollovers because of their shape and size, other vehicles can be involved in rollover accidents for a variety of reasons.

Rollover accidents can be caused by mechanical or parts defects in an automobile. When these defects lead to rollovers, the car manufacturer or dealer may be responsible for any damages. In other cases, the rollover may be the result of poor road conditions. In this case, the government agency in charge of maintaining the road may be held responsible.

Over the past few years, states across the country have passed texting while driving bans. Recently, Wisconsin passed a provision that requires drivers not to text while operating a vehicle.

According to numerous studies including one conducted by Virginia Tech, drivers who text while driving are three times more likely to be involved in a serious accident. By passing this legislation, Wisconsin lawmakers hope to reduce the number of accidents caused by texting while driving.
