Blue Mounds two-vehicle collision kills woman

The Dane County Sheriff’s Office in Wisconsin reported that a deadly two-vehicle accident happened at the intersection of U.S. Highway 151 and County Road F in the village of Blue Mounds, according to a WISC-TV article published on April 5.

The accident occurred not long after midnight and resulted in the death of a young woman.

According to preliminary investigations, 22-year-old Lodi resident Ashley Schill was heading south on County Road F when she was hit by a westbound pickup driven by 56-year-old Barnevel resident Michael Klarer after she failed to stop at a stop sign at Highway 151.

Schill was declared dead at the scene of the accident by the county medical examiner.

Meanwhile, Klarer and his passenger, 54-year-old Patricia Klarer, were transported to an area hospital for the treatment of their non-life-threatening injuries.

Among those who responded to the incident were the Barneveld Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services, the University of Wisconsin Med Flight, and the Mount Horeb Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services.
