Two injured in Lincoln crash

Posted on Tuesday, December 27th, 2011 at 8:22 pm

Two drivers were injured following a two-car accident over the weekend in Lincoln, near Warrens.

Monroe County officers believe alcohol was a factor after a 44 year-old woman pulled out of a parking lot in front of another vehicle on Highway 12 and Highway EW. The passing car was unable to stop in time to avoid the accident, and the 54 year-old driver crashed into her car.

The 44 year-old was taken to Gundersen Lutheran Hospital with life-threatening injuries. A passenger in her car was not hurt. The 54 year-old woman in the other vehicle suffered minor injuries and was admitted to Tomah Memorial. The crash is currently being investigated by the Wisconsin State Patrol and the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department.

DWI task force plans for Green Bay Packers game

A multi-jurisdictional drunk driving task force is preparing for the big Packers game next month to stop impaired drivers who have come from Lambeau Field.

Officers are planning a four hour sting following the Packers divisional playoff game in January and plan to return for the NFC Championship game if they win. Earlier this month in a trial run, six drivers were pulled over for drunk driving after the Packers-Raiders game.

Football fans are urged to be responsible while celebrating the game. Patrons can only purchase two alcoholic drinks at a time and last call is in the third quarter. Green Bay Metro is also offering free bus rides.

Subaru and Honda issue recalls for brake defects

Posted on Tuesday, December 6th, 2011 at 5:12 pm

Subaru of America is recalling its Impreza, Outback, and Legacy models and Honda Motor Co. is recalling its GL-1800 motorcycles for brake defects.

The 2012 models of the Impreza, Outback, and Legacy have received over a hundred complaints of a defective break pedal that must be pushed more than expected, causing drivers to misjudge the amount of pressure needing to be applied. No injures or crashes have been reported due to the malfunction. Subaru claims that not all vehicles of the 2012 models have this problem.

The 2001-2012 models of Honda GL-1800 motorcycles are being recalled over a problem with the rear brake, which could cause it to drag. The drag could cause a crash or start a fire. Twenty-six complaints have been issued to Honda, two involving fires.

If you or someone you love has been injured due to a brake defect, contact the Kenosha brake defect lawyers of Habush Habush & Rottier, S.C. at 800-242-2874 today.
