The Japanese automaker has currently announced a recall of over 550,000 vehicles sold mostly in the United States.

A malfunction in the engine’s crankshaft pulley could cause the power steering pump to become misaligned, making steering and turning the wheel very difficult. The models affected are the 2004-2005 Camry, 2004 Avalon, and 2006 Highlander HV. Lexus models include 2006 RX00h and the 2004-2005 RX330 and ES330.

No injuries or accidents have been reported in relation to the malfunction.

In January, Toyota and Lexus announced a 1.7 million car recall and in February an additional 2.17 million vehicles were also recalled. The company has seen an 18.5% drop in profits from July-September of this year and is currently facing several damage lawsuits.
