One killed in single-vehicle crash

A single-vehicle crash claimed the life of a firefighter and paramedic from Trevor at 2:57 AM Saturday when the truck he was driving struck a utility pole in Salem on the 12200 block of 204th Avenue (Highway B).
The man’s pickup truck rolled over and struck a utility pole, according to Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department Deputies who responded to reports of the crash. The pole was broken in two and had fallen on the truck. The case was ultimately handed to Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies, as it occurred just over state lines.
Authorities do not believe that drugs or alcohol were involved in this tragic accident.
