Racine Man Sentenced to 18 Years for Fatal Kenosha Crash

A Racine man who pleaded guilty to causing a fatal Kenosha Car Accident has been sentenced to 18 years in prison.
According to court documents, Thursday’s sentencing of 23 year-old Jerry G. Holliman was part of a plea deal. Holliman pleaded guilty to homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle, and prosecutors dismissed three other charges.
Prosecutors say Holliman sped away when a Kenosha County Sheriff’s Deputy tried to pull him over for speeding last year. During the subsequent chase, Holliman allegedly turned into the path of 31 year-old Pleasant Prarie-resident Anibal Tellez.
Tellez died as a result of the crash.
Holliman’s attorney says his client was acting with an “invincible and bulletproof” mentality.
